Are you making these mistakes with Linkedin?
From a trained eye
Hey guys,
As with any social media platform, just making a few posts and waiting for leads to come in is not going to lead to success.
I have a trained eye now, having looked at this stuff every day for 2 years and also done it myself.
Here are the top mistakes I’m seeing on Linkedin:
❌ Unoptimized profile - I call it the “3 second test” - do people know who you are and what you sell, within 3 seconds?
❌ No clear ICP - think of this like a laser beam. Ideally one target, one method, one end result. You can generalize more once you’re more established.
❌ Selling features and benefits of your offers
💡 Example #1: If I buy from Alphalete or Buff Bunny, it’s because I like Heidi/Christian and I want to look like them. Such is the power of social media, so use it to your advantage.
💡 Example #2: You sell a SaaS product, look at what Stan Store is doing - $30M in ARR because of John Hu.
❌ Too much about you and not about how you add value to your clients

Takeaway: Tell stories about yourself but do it in away that positions yourself as the solution to your client.
❌ Engagement is random, not strategic. Engagement on posts can be automated, but I always ask clients… who are we targeting to build relationships with?
This is where manual prospecting and building lead lists with intent comes in.
If your stuff isn’t selling, try going back to the fundamentals of Hook + Story + Offer.
