Chinese Money Habits
My most recent viral video
I was actually surprised at the results of one of my recent Youtube videos that went viral.
When I filmed the video, I remember thinking to myself ‘well this is probably going to get like 300 views, lol’
That’s actually why I just edited it myself with no catchy editing, and posted it on a Friday (worst day of the week to post Youtube videos)
That’s why with content you just have to keep posting, because you never know what’s going to go viral and what isn’t.
Culture plays a huge part of money habits.
I didn’t grow up with any money. My family is a typical Asian immigrant family who came to Canada to give their next generation the best life.
All I was told was how important higher education is.
How important it is to save as much as possible, and adjust your lifestyle to meet your saving goals.
Hence why I studied so hard in school. Why I worked part time throughout high school and university.
Obviously times are changing a bit and we have different types of opportunity available to us.
It’s also hard to build a great life with 9-5 income when you live in a city with a very high cost of living.
But the fundamentals in that video will never change, no matter how you apply yourself in life.
No matter where you are at financially in your life, I promise you will find value in learning from a hard working immigrant family that came to North America with $0.
Until next time,
Alice
