How Do People In The 1% Actually Think?
Secrets revealed from a CPA
When I was 22, I worked for a CPA firm that specialized in high net worth clientele.
In the CPA world, this is called "articling", which takes 30 months in Canada.
During this period you have to study at night on a part-time basis so you can pass a series of professional exams.
Anyways, one of the first client files I ever touched was a very wealthy, 8-figure guy.
My mind was blown when I saw the numbers on his bank statements and tax returns.
Dividend payments that exceeded my entire annual salary.
Prior to this, my whole life I had been told that education was the key to riches (because Asian immigrant parents).
The partner on file, actually invited me into the room and gave me an opportunity to speak to this guy.
He didn't have to do this.
He could have taken the calls himself in his office.
He made it a very clear point to go out of his way to give me this experience, because he knew how it would change an impressionable, 22 year old's mind.
And I will never forget this gesture.
To to make top 1% income, you have to just be the absolute best at what you do.
There are no secrets, shortcuts.
You need to be an exceptional human being at the thing that you choose to do and how you choose to apply yourself in life.
This is something that I have seen repeatedly in my career.
Working with high net worth individuals, business owners, and now being mentored by millionaires myself now.
They are all wired to think in the same way about time and health.
They all think about money in a certain way.
They are all radically self accountable, even when something is not directly "their fault".
They also have some key financial habits (that are more related to accounting/tax) that they practice.
In this video, I go into depth of those financial habits.
Hope you're having a wonderful week.
