How I Built A 2000+ Email List
and what to actually do with your list
Hi there!
So picture this… it's July 2023.
I'm sitting at my kitchen table at 6AM, knowing that I have 60-90 minutes before my son is going to wake up.
I am staring at a blank Convertkit template wondering....
"How in the world do I write emails and grow my list?"
I had recently purchased this book "How To Write Emails That Don't Suck" by Bobby Klink.
I love books, but this one is 300 pages long.
Because I had very limited time back then, I had to work quickly and skim read to extract the most relevant action items.
Growing an e-mail requires driving:
Step 1 - Drive traffic to your opt-ins (lead magnets, freebies)
Step 2 - Set up tags and forms in an e-mail provider like Convertkit
Step 3 - Set up email flows and sequences via your funnel, to direct people through your ecosystem
Step 4 - Write regularly to your list and just act like a normal person
The actual strategy depends on what you're selling and your product suite.
Ex. You sell a digital course at $397, you will want a 7-14 day email sequence promoting your live webinar for a launch. You can repurpose old content that performed well if you feel it would help or be relevant. You will take the best emails that performed during that email sequence and repurpose for your evergreen webinar.
