How To Succeed At Any Social Media Platform

Some people say I'm pretty good at psychology

Hey guys,

Whenever I approach a new platform, this is my thought process:

  • What is the transformation that the average end user wants?

  • What are the words and language that the average end user is appealed by?

  • What visuals is the average end user attracted to?

What works on one platform isn’t always going to perform on another platform.

It partly has to do with algorithms, yes.

But the main thing is that end users on each platform have a different set of core desires and outcomes.

This is why repurposing content from one platform to another isn’t always the most effective.

I do this, and all content creators do this.

It allows us to get stuff out fast and show up everywhere.

But if I’m serious about something, I take the time and effort to approach it myself.

I’ve been posting 5x a day on my own Linkedin to test strategies to share with my clients.

Here are my observations (from posting 5x/day):

1️⃣ Short form video - I am personally investing more time & effort into shorts for at least the next 3 months. Long form is important too but it’s also a long grind.

2️⃣ Evergreen topics that do well include communication skills, emotional intelligence, negotiation, time management, leadership, business finance, general motivation

3️⃣ News-based topics that do well include anything to do with AI, what’s happening in silicon valley, with VC’s, buying or selling companies, getting funding.

4️⃣ Sales techniques - Basically this is the same across all platforms (eg. myth debunking, creating urgency, storytelling, etc)

5️⃣ The funnel - This is very similar to IG and YT. You get to use voice memos and sell in DMs which is great for high priced services. Newsletters are also really popular on LI. Check out my video here where I talk about the Youtube funnel.
