Let's rewind a bit
How I got here
“Alice, how did you become a business coach?”
Well let’s dig into the timeline of my life and how this all happened…
In 2019, I qualified as a CPA (after 3 years of articling + 2 years of schooling).
I started dabbling in online business shortly after this.
Watched all of the Youtube videos about Amazon FBA and dropshipping.
Bought all the courses from the “lamborghini gurus” (lesson learned)
Read all of the self development and personal finance books.
I launched 3 products and ran PPC between $50-100USD/day to rank my products.
Product #1 - completely tanked.
Product #2 - Hit $20k/mo at one point with 40% gross margin… it was amazing, until I found out I accidentally bought a patented product. Oops.
Product #3 - was a good product but Chinese competitors tanked my reviews as soon as I launched. Had supplier quality issues (more bad reviews), was forced to drop my price to break-even, and I was just soooo unmotivated and jaded at this point.
Why am I telling you this story?
Because my failures are your takeaways.
It took me 2.5 years to launch 3 products because I only spent 5 hours a week working on this side hustle
I had long stretches (think 6+ months) of giving up and putting in no effort. I was never able to build up any momentum.
I was never good enough to figure anything out myself. Every time something didn’t go my way, I just pouted and complained. Because of this, no problems were ever solved and therefore no money was ever made.
I kept getting distracted by life (getting engaged, wedding, selling condo, moving, renovations, drinking on weekends, etc). There’s always a reason to not work on your business.
So yeah… in hindsight, I clearly deserved it, lol.
In 2021, I got a job for a $20 mil B2B SaaS company.
Told myself that “I’m going to commit to the Controller to CFO route” for the next 5 years.
But I just couldn’t shake the terrible feeling of having given up on something that I told myself I wanted.
All I wanted was to live life on my own terms.
So in 2022, I decided to give it one more shot… what about Youtube?
Being a Youtuber was something that I had always dreamed of.
I started to post some videos in the cooking niche.
A few months later, I found out that I was pregnant with my son(!!)
But despite this… I promised myself that I wouldn’t let life events get in my way this time.
So I continued to film and post throughout pregnancy and mat leave.
Woke up at 5AM as needed.
Worked on long weekends as needed.
Never missed a single week of posting.
Launched a coaching business in May 2023.
Learned sales, marketing, content, low ticket funnels, high ticket funnels.
None of my “friends and family” were supportive of me.
In fact I think they actively tried to do everything they could to make sure I didn’t succeed.
Despite this, I forced myself to find solutions to problems, even when things seemed completely impossible.
Within 10 months of launching, I hit over 100k+ in accumulated profits.
That’s just coaching revenue and excludes the money I’ve made from courses, ad sense, affiliate links, and sponsors.
Saved 100% of this money.
Quit my job.
I recently had a viral winner and just hit 35k subs on Youtube 🙂
Sometimes when things don’t work out the first time, there is usually a reason.
Even though Youtube has a steep learning curve, I have learned so much about myself (including where my best strengths and weaknesses truly are).
I wouldn’t trade these experiences for the world.
And now, I get to help other people create a freedom business that allows them to live life on their own terms.
If learning from me is something you’re interested in, I encourage you to join my free community which contains everything that I’ve learned in the past two years on:
