Scared of posting on social media?
A few tips I have
I had a discovery call last week with someone who had started a business but was still working full-time.
These were CPAs that were looking to leave corporate and grow their own book of clients.
One of the objections they gave me was that they couldn’t create content the way that I do on social media because they still work full-time.
They told me that can’t just say whatever they want on social media, wear makeup the way I do, dress like me, because of their boss, colleagues, etc.
To which I said, oh.. well you don’t have to.
As someone who was vested in career for a long time, working in conservative environments, and understands “optics” and workplace politics, I get it.
Luckily, there’s alternative ways to be discreet (hint: cold email)
Creating social media content to sign clients though, is very different than social media as an influencer.
Social media to sign clients:
views don’t matter
messaging > follower count
fancy editing not required
start with your iphone
the more niche the messaging, the better
goal: conversion, conversion, conversion
If you’re wondering “what will my boss think about me” which is a common fear that people have..
Ask yourself “how will I feel about myself in 5 years if I let my fear of my boss’ opinion impact my own life”
The decision to take the leap of faith was the best choice I’ve made in my whole life.
I would encourage people to do it any time.
Plus if you can’t stop thinking about it…
That’s a sign that you should absolutely go for it.
