You only need to be 10% better than everyone else

On a hockey team, there are usually only 3-4 star players that earn 70% of the team’s salary cap.

If you are 10% better than the next player, you are earning top 10% of overall NHL hockey money.

(I didn’t actually do the math on any of those figures above, but you get my point)

If you think about it, those star players are just a LITTLE bit better than everyone else.

What is it really?

10% more hours in practice?
10% more heart when it matters?
10% more grit in tough times?
10% more willing to take risk?

Anyone who is 10% better immediately stands out as exceptional.

But.. even the best players are still human. They’re still hockey players. They still have to play with the rest of the team.

They still get 90% of the attention and reward.

The point I’m trying to make is that being a “little bit better” is what allows them to earn disproportionately more than the average player.

Be 10% better than everyone else, reap 90% of the money.

That is the unfair advantage and I’d work for those odds any day.

Speaking of 10% better, I’ve applied this to my content in the past few months:

No dopamine spikes and addicting edits, but if you have the attention span to learn about traditional business, you’ll find extremely unique value bombs in there.

I get a lot of people sliding into my DM’s asking for free advice - so I would call these videos… free CFO advice 🙂
